Attorney Byard is admitted to practice before the Courts of Ohio, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations, the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee and the Ohio Public Employee Lawyers Association. He completed his Juris Doctorate in 1989 at Capital University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Following law school, Attorney Byard worked as Senior Law Clerk to Honorable Justice Andrew Douglas until 1999. During his tenure, he developed extensive knowledge of the latest case law surrounding organized labor, arbitrations, collective bargaining and employment discrimination.
The firm welcomed Attorney Byard as a Partner in 2005; however he joined Hunter, Carnahan and Shoub in 1999 as an Associate Attorney. He is highly skilled in representing members of labor organizations in both the private and public sectors. In addition to negotiating employment contracts and representing individuals in employment disputes, Attorney Byard concentrates on benefit issues.
